Dragon’s Blood Tree!

The island’s nature has evolved independently to anywhere else. Socotra is the home of dragon blood trees, wadis, white beaches, sand dunes and mountains. This is one of the most extraterrestrial places on earth, where most of the flora and fauna is endemic and there’s still almost zero tourism. The Dragon’s Blood Tree (Dracaena cinnabari) is one of the world’s most unique trees, found mainly on Socotra Island, Yemen. It has an umbrella-like shape, and when its bark or trunk is cut, it releases a deep red resin, resembling blood, which gives it its mysterious name.
